This line is SO accurate: "Rather, you'd prefer to stop in lesser-known cities or seek out an ancient monastery or old fort that may not be listed in most guidebooks." Yeah, I am very into seeing cool, old, off-the-beaten-path stuff, but sleeping in a comfy bed with a hot shower and "western-style" plumbing. Here's a handy hint: avoid that "helicoper ride" in Hawaii. Two choppers went down within 3 days of each other on Kauai in the last month. Another crashed within the last year. Pretty much everyone dies when those things go down. Not that I'm afraid of adventure... I'm just sayin'.... (Besides, that part about "see the sights that few others do," what's that all about? You wanna see that, hike out across the lava fields, or take the rim trail around and across Kilauea caldera. Way more fun, and you'll see it all up close!
