That's a good insight, Carl. The situation now is better than before, when airfares are sky high. Unfortunately, with the cheaper flights, though the Philippines is now more accessible, the service suffers :(

Completely Agree.. I'm a foreigner living here and need to travel frequently in and out for business and you wouldnt beleive the talk and disappointment among travelers in and out.

Can't understand since we all want the economy to improve yet the gateway is still controlled and sorry but by one of the worst airlines (PAL) i've flown in Asia. You can't upgrade, or use points like the other carriers, the pionts are worthless actually (have many too!) unless you have the time to plan and go to the ticket office in traffic (sorry but I work) the business class (even first) is horrible in my expierence (about 20 flights) broken seats, audio messed up etc. Yes some other airlines have same issues but I'm not forced to fly them as I can choose many going to other international destinations.

If more airlines could have easy access (i.e travelers) manila could become a great hub such as HKG or BKK. Even if the travelers didnt leave the airport it would mean large amounts of jobs for the airport to accomedaite shopping and layovers. Currently most say "pray you don't have a layover in NAIA"... The terminals will do nothing to help that.

Love it here.. just wish it felt more welcome at times and this is one area that doesnt..

Har. I laughed when I read the word "mothballed." Geez. It's probably rusting already.

I dunno if having PAL operate NAIA3 solely will be a good thing. Won't the first airport be congested? If ever this pushes through, PAL'd better have more promos to attract travelers so they can at least maximize the *two* airports they have control over.
