Cebu Pacific (CEB) will start direct flights from Manila to Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xiamen and Macau this September and October with seat sale fares that are 85% lower than those currently available for these routes.
One-way fares exclusive of surcharges and government tax are pegged at P888 for Manila-Guangzhou, Manila-Xiamen, Manila-Macau, and P1,888 for Manila-Shanghai. This seat sale will run from June 28 to July 4, 2007 and is good for travel until December 15, 2007.
CEB’s daily service to Shanghai and Xiamen will begin September 12 and 26, respectively. The four times weekly flights to Guangzhou will start on October 10, while the thrice-weekly Macau service will start on October 11.
After its seat sale, CEB’s lowest ‘Go’ fare to Macau, Xiamen, and Guangzhou is P1,999 one-way — a reduction of as much as 70% from the existing lowest year round fare to these destinations. CEB’s ‘Go’ fares to Shanghai starts at P2,999 one-way — almost 76% lower than the current applicable lowest year round fare. Fares are exclusive of applicable taxes and surcharges.
Graaaaaaaaaaaah! Cebu Pacific’s really driving me crazy! Then again, this is the perfect motivation to pursue my 2008 Asian tour haha.

FLORENCE, Italy – Visitors to the Bargello museum in Florence will be able to see restorers at work removing centuries of dirt from Donatello’s “David” starting Tuesday, officials said.
The 15th-century bronze nude is being restored for the first time, said museum director Beatrice Paolozzi Strozzi. New techniques including lasers will allow restorers to remove encrusted dirt and grime from the 5.18-feet masterpiece while keeping it in its place in the museum.
Pardon my immaturity…but is she looking at what I *think* she’s looking at? O_O
Happy! Just Wandering has been featured in Manila Bulletin’s Blog-O-Rama. Thanks so much to Ajay for this opportunity.

It’s easy to get around Sydney, even for a first timer. The public transport system is extensive, so you wouldn’t have to rely on costly taxis everytime.
You can buy and pay for tickets everytime you board the bus, ferry or train. However, it’s more convenient to buy a travel pass, which can be used on all services.
Which ticket to buy?
I give you three choices: the Daytripper, the Sydney Pass and the Travel Pass.

This is just too disgusting to imagine. I pity the passengers who had to endure this.
DALLAS – Continental Airlines Inc. is apologizing to its customers for “poor conditions” aboard a trans-Atlantic flight where one passenger described sewage spilling down the aisle from a lavatory.
“I’ve never felt so offended in all my life,” passenger Collin Brock of Washington state told Seattle’s KING-TV. “I felt like I had been physically abused and neglected. I was forced to sit next to human excrement for seven hours.”

Update: Dana over at the New York Metroblog was on that flight, and needless to say, she wasn’t pleased.

Mike of Vagabondish led me to this astounding newsbit from Reuters:
SANTIAGO (Reuters) – A lake in southern Chile has mysteriously disappeared, prompting speculation the ground has simply opened up and swallowed it whole.
“In March we patrolled the area and everything was normal … we went again in May and to our surprise we found the lake had completely disappeared,” said Juan Jose Romero, regional director of Chile’s National Forestry Corporation CONAF.
Uh-huuuh.
That’s a pretty sizable lake…it dried up completely within 2 months? O_O I’ve seen a dried up lake in Australia, but it’s something that’s bound to happen because of the drought they were experiencing.
Nina, going through quarterlife crisis, decided to stop talking about traveling and actually start traveling. Starting with a solo weekend trip to Cebu to a backpacking trip in Thailand and Singapore, she finally made it out of Asia and into Australia. After spending close to six months down under, she's happily settled in Manila (for now), intent to explore the best things the Philippines has to offer.
