Actually I made the jeepney shot here, but it's not from Manila but from Bislig City, a crap poor small city down South in Mindanao. Jeepneys are typical for every city. In Manila, you don't have to travel on the roof. That's only in rural places and for long haul jeepneys.

Manila taxis are fun. Most try to fool you. "Meter tested and sealed" sometimes means that they're connected to the car radio and when the music comes on, they run at twice the speed. You always have to remember that by default, white guys are supposed to sh@t money.

About 60% are dead honest and friendly, but once in a while you have a bad one. When I start to shout and make a drama, they always back off. It helps to know the price of the rides. When you have a decent and friendly one, give a decent fee, like 20-40php, say "thank you and God bless".
