American Airlines is set to be the first US carrier to offer Internet access onboard their domesic flights.
Beginning in 2008, American will test the service on its 767-200 aircraft, which chiefly fly transcontinental routes, AirCell said.
AirCell Chief Executive Jack Blumenstein told Reuters that the equipment costs about $100,000 per plane and that airlines can offer the service for about $10 per flight.

Hmmm, I wonder when Philippine carriers will have a similar service? (Not that I need it — if anything, I need to spend more time away from the computer)

For $10, I’d definitely use it. But probably only if Northwest got it for their US-Japan flights. For once I’d actually be able to do stuff I like rather than suffer through an in-flight movie or read their magazines over and over again.
Pero I like the idea. Especially on long flights. Mas madami kang pag lilibangan
that’d be expensive here. cebu pacific just made their flights as no-frills
pero kakalibang though i prefer to watch movies pa rin during long flights (as if i ever had one)
For long haul, I’m quite happy with just a personal entertainment system. Well, as long as they have a good selection of movies and TV programs
I agree, $10 doesn’t seem like a lot of money for internet access. I guess it would also depend on how long you plan to be flying
