Just Wandering’s new look

Surprised much? :D (If you’re new to Just Wandering, please don’t mind this geeky post. Do check out my other entries. There’s a handy list to your right, listing my 10 most wanted posts.)

As much as I love Chris Frazier’s Subtle theme, it was time for a change. I originally intended this theme for my work blog, but I liked it so much that I just took it for myself. Some notable changes:

  1. The header image changes with each refresh. Yup, there’s about 18 different headers. This is basically a bigger version of the “Through my eyes” flickr badge thing I had in my previous layout. All the photos appearing in the header were taken with my beloved Canon Powershot A70. Most of the shots were taken around the Philippines, with a couple taken in Thailand. If you’d like to see more of my travel pictures, they’re up at my flickr.
  2. My profile picture beside the about me blurb also changes with each refresh. Clicking on the picture takes you to my flickr page.
  3. I’ve decided to trim the junk in my sidebar. However, I haven’t really decided which should stay and which should go. So far, all that you see to your right are the ones staying. I’m definitely putting the list of my favorite travel blogs back. I just have to go sleep a bit.
  4. This layout is best viewed in Mozilla Firefox and Opera. It’s tolerable in Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.

Just Wandering’s new theme is called Leia, designed by Kapikua. Sadly, it’s not widget enabled, but I’m still loving it.

So…any comments? Suggestions? Violent reactions? I would really like to hear what you think :)

I kept refreshing the page just to see what banners you have on there. “not a Globe endorser” LOL !

The sidebar can use a bit more space between sections, though. …but then again, maybe it’s just me. Hehe. Happy New Layout Day! ^_^

It looks great! This was one of my favorites when I was looking for a new theme for my blog, but then I decided that I really wanted widgets and also I wanted four columns – but this one still looks fabulous. Good job!

Congrats Nina! The header selection is so nice, I’m seeing more of them now. Comment though, I don’t know if it’s my screen settings but your right side bar’s a bit tight, line spacing-wise. The lines are hitting each other. Want me to screenie?

Hi Sarah! Hehe, thanks! All the photos were supposed to have “wander with me” in it, but halfway through, I cracked and started writing in the first thing to come to mind XD I’ll definitely be working on improving that sidebar ;)

    Thanks you so much Annika!

Hey Cayce! My dorky pictures aren’t showing right? XD

Wow, I’m honored Dyanie! *blush* I hope to read about YOUR travels soon!

Harhar, you were one of those who voted to keep the color scheme right, Khursten? I got lazy and put it off for now XD

It’s not your browser, Kaoko doh I actually *did* set it like that but you’re right…it looks too cramped -_- Will work on that, thanks! :)

Thanks Christine! Each picture make me smile whenever I remember the great memories attached with each ^_^

Hey Estan! I’ve actually looked at that and tried it, but I kept on failing miserably -_- Will take another crack at it tomorrow, I think I’ve figured out where I went wrong *crosses fingers* For now, I shall continue enjoying manual coding haha

Naughty Anna! You broke my comment thingie XD Well, not really. Heehee.

Hey Mr. Island Boy! Great to meet you too! See you at the next Blog & Soul meeting! :D

Melo! Gah, I’ve yet to set it up. I’ll send you the details via email :thumb:

Ooops, sorry Nina! Didn’t mean it that way. Actually, I think part of it is my browser…I just found out my font settings were on big. ^_^ ;; Sorry for the confusion.

I like the new design. it’d be a little better if it was centered on the page though ;) Peace
