$75 per night for 3 adults and 2 kids is expensive? I think it's pretty reasonable. Then again, when I travel alone in Aussie, the average amount I pay for a dorm bed is AU$25 per night.

We didn't do the Historic River Walk. We drive it though. Hee.

And frisson and piqued were the exact words that popped in to mind while I was composing this piece :P

"Frisson" and "piqued" in the same paragraph? This blog is getting too literate!

Erm.... $75 per night for a caravan park? I guess it's been a while since I've been to Australia. A beautiful hotel room overlooking the Coral Sea somewhere between Cairns and Port Douglas cost about $40 AUD per night... back when an Aussie dollar was about sixty-five cents US. Other than the hotel in Sydney near Darling Harbour, the most expensive place we stayed was AUD $65, and they were all decent motels. The following trip cost a bit more (especially in Sydney), but still, I think $75 was probably the most we paid for a motel or hotel. And that price included pillows.

World traveling is getting further and further beyond my budget.

And I see that a hotel in Horsham will set me back $130 a night, so I guess the tourist park is a good deal after all! At least the hotel website has a list of Horsham attractions. Did you do the Historic River Walk?
