Missed opportunities

One of the sad facts about traveling is that there will always be missed opportunities. Like, not being able to go to Warner Brother’s Movie World because you’d rather shop, or taking a pass at visiting the temples you haven’t seen yet because of the terrible heat (I’m looking at you, Christine!) As much as we try to take it all in in our limited time abroad, planning your schedule at home or in your hotel is certainly different than being at the actual place.

One of my missed opportunities was not being able to watch The Cat Empire in concert at Phillip Island last January. By some sick twist of fate, I remembered to check their website for their tour info right AFTER their concert.

However, that pales in comparison to what I have just discovered: Marcus Schenkenberg, the world’s first male supermodel, went to Melbourne last March.

@)#$(&@(#&!@(#!@)#!#$*@!!!! >_< T_T <_< doh

I can't believe that Marcus Schenkenberg was in the same city as I was, and I wasn't even aware of it! Graaaah!

Have you ever missed an opportunity while traveling?

  1. I found out that Juanes was playing just down the block from where I was staying in Amsterdam last summer..

My Dutch friend and I were about to go out for drinks, to meet up with her other friends when we heard strains of music from the nearby park.. She’s like.. oh yeah, I hear that there’s this concert playing tonight but I forget who he is.. so anyway, we go down to the pub until the next day, I was walking and I saw the concert poster with Juanes’ hot face all over it.. I was like… #*!!($(#(*$@

And I’ve never been to a concert by an international act before. :(

Haha, yep I let the heat get to me. But I like to look at it as a reason to go back someday. :) Sometimes it’s a good idea to ‘leave something for next time’!

cayce: that sucks! I know because that has happened to me more than a couple of times! >_<

Christine: I feel for you! I missed a LOT of temples in Bangkok actually. The heat was just too much that I just succumbed to the malls. And yes, it’s always a great idea to leave something for next time! :D

Before you post...

I read all comments posted here, but sometimes I do not have the time nor energy to answer each one. I try to answer all the questions that have been posted, but if your question have been answered in the post or in the articles linked from the post, I will ignore you. So please read the post in its entirety before posting something. Once again, I reiterate that I am not affiliated with any hotel, embassy or company that have been featured in this blog unless otherwise stated. Also, posting your e-mail address and mobile number for the world to see? Bad idea.
