A walk through NAIA Terminal 3

Since I heard about the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 opening for a dry run, I’ve been itching to book a flight just so I can tour the controversial airport. But for now, I’m pacifiying myself with this walkthrough with Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) assistant general manager for airport development and corporate affairs, Tirso G. Serrano.

Update: I was able to finally try out the airport and I was quite happy with it. Of course, that’s just my opinion. Read my review about the NAIA Terminal 3.

    Hi,

This is really exciting news though Mr. Serrano should have use Filipino in showcasing the terminal’s features instead of Taglish. He’s having hard time really.

Well, I’ll wait till my next vacation to Philippines to see it for myself. I believe after 6 months, they’ll be opening the international flights.

    ciao,

bat ba ayaw nila mag invite ng bloggers para ma tour ang lugar, kaysa i tour ang mga buyawang malalaki ang tyan.

we bloggers pay our taxes and terminal fees when travelling., ang mga buyawa ba nagbabayad din ba?

It’s great that they finally updated the airport. Can’t wait to see the new look!

Nice but wish the signs were bilingual- English and Filipino so there’s a sense of being in Pinas, otherwise, it might just seem another aiport somwhere.

took a flight with CebPac today, 7 hrs delayed! 6hrs 30 mins charged to CebPac’s fault, 30 mins charged to NAIA3’s fault.

NAIA3 is not quite ready yet to service its passengers, most flights are delayed and systems aren’t in place yet. Give it 2-3 more months hopefully things will normalize. I blogged about it.

Tita: I can’t wait to see it as well. I’m flying out from NAIA 3 this Saturday 😀

Ivan: True! That’s what I noticed about Bangkok — the signs were in English and Thai. Well, given that they have their own way of writing, I guess it’s really important to them. But having signs in Filipino would really be a welcoming sight for balikbayans (I know signs like that make me smile everytime I come home!)

freeze: Seven hours? OUCH! A friend of mine used NAIA3 last Friday as well, and he said the flight was delayed due to the airport’s terrible facilities. Eep, can’t wait for Saturday to experience this for myself! (Sans the 6-hour delay)

Doesnt matter if your languange is characters or Roman alphabet, its our national laguage and should be displayed prominently (as what they do in KL or Saigon), kung di dito, saan pa?

I was also intrigued by Terminal 3 so I booked the cheapest flight I can find that operates there – Cebu Pacific, MNL to CEB, CEB to MNL. 1998 PHP – hurray for seat sales!!!

I agree, Ivan. Probably think that every Filipino who’d use the airport would know basic English, so there’s no need to put up signs in Filipino.

Kim: I’m going to use Terminal 3 today! 😀

Hi Arnold! I don’t recall seeing any Duty Free in the terminal. I might have missed it though…
