I’ve been back in the Philippines since Monday evening, but I’m not quite home yet. My sister from Melbourne also arrived on the same day with her family, and I’ve been bunking with them since I arrived.
The Singapore Airlines flight home was pretty meh, unfortunately. I was mostly annoyed by my seatmate, and there wasn’t really anything good in the personal entertainment system. Also, it’s one of those old systems that don’t let you pause, rewind or fast forward through the shows. The flight was fairly uneventful, save for some turbulence.
We disembarked in NAIA five minutes before 8:40, the flight’s estimated time of arrival. Terminal 1 was pretty empty that night, and it was just our flight waiting at the carousel. When I got out, I saw that the yellow airport taxis are now situated right at the exit, with the airport taxi on the other side. The yellow taxis aren’t cheap, but it’s definitely cheaper than the airport coupon taxis, and I’ve no energy to haggle prices with the regular meter taxis at the departure level. It was a good thing that I’m just staying in Makati, so my fare wasn’t as big as my fare to QC. Still, for the Php 254 I paid the yellow cab, I could’ve already gone all the way to QC in the regular taxi.
I’m pretty happy to be back and to be in Makati. I’ve lived in Quezon City most of my life, yet I’ve worked and lived for a couple of years in Makati. Most of my friends work here as well, and I took the opportunity to catch up with them after work. It was also a great opportunity for Sango’s master fries, which I haven’t had for a loooong time.
Tonight I’m finally going home to Quezon City, to my own bed and finally, access to clothes that come from a closet, and not from my backpack or suitcase. Not too excited about that somehow.

Welcome back to the Philippines, and most importantly for you, home.
Some very nice photographs you have here

i love singairs entertainment system, might really be an old one you got for i can ff/rewind movies there…yellow cabs charge about double the amount of regular cabs to compensate for the return trip
Tutubi: Yup, the flights to Manila usually have the old system. Boo!
