Start the year right at the Taal Vista Hotel, yes?
So we survived another year, and it’s time to look towards another year of fun and travel. I don’t really have anything major planned for 2013 yet, but I’m hoping to start it off with a relaxing weekend at Tagaytay, at the Taal Vista Hotel. Have you made plans yet?
Le Monet in Baguio
You can head up to Baguio, and experience first-hand how cold it can get in the mountains in January. Check out this deal for the Le Monet Hotel in Camp John Hay: overnight stay for two for only Php 3,850, inclusive of buffet breakfast.
Playa Tropical in Ilocos Norte
Looking for someplace farther? How about Ilocos Norte? Work on your tan by the beach, visit the Paoay Church, eat poque-poque pizza and inkalti at Saramsam, marvel at the Kapurpurawan Rock and the Bangui Windmills, and re-enact scenes from Temptation Island at the Paoay or La Paz Sand Dunes. After all that, you can take a rest and get massages at Playa Tropical in Currimao, where you can get a room for five with its own private pool for only Php 7,800. Not bad, eh?
Peacock Garden in Bohol
If you want to head down to the Visayas, the Peacock Garden Resort and Spa has an enticing offer for Php 11,400, where in you get 3 days and 2 nights in a Deluxe Sea View Room, which includes breakfast for two, 30-minute massages, and round trip transfers to and from Tagbilaran airport.
Sumilon Island in Cebu
I am likewise enticed with the Sumilon Island package: 3 days and 2 nights in a deluxe room, daily breakfast, roundtrip airport transfers, and discounts at their restaurants. I guess I’m just antsy for a beach trip.
Arena Island in Palawan
You can also go all out and head to a private island in Palawan. Arena Island in Narra is offering 3 days and 2 nights stay in one of only two casitas in the island. The package includes full board meals (3 full meals and 2 snacks), roundtrip transfers to and from Puerto Princessa airport, your own personal staff (your own bulter! Cook! Masseuse!), and use of all amenities and activities (including snorkeling, turtle interaction, fishing, kayaking, tree house and floating veranda). Package price is Php 34,000. Quite a sum, but it’s an amazing deal as the original price is Php 60,000!
Hard case luggage from Segue
If you’re on the hunt for a new luggage to use on your 2013 travels, check out these awesome 3-piece luggage sets from Benetton and Segue. Hard case, four multi-directional wheels, and lightweight. I want these!
Looking forward to Cintai Corito in Batangas
I’ve already made my purchase from Deal Grocer’s Christmas Collection and I am looking forward to redeeming it next year: a Terrace Villa stay for four at Cintai Corito’s Garden in Batangas. Balinese décor, four swimming pools (four!), and peacocks wandering around the garden…it’s going to be one lovely weekend.
Your room at the Crosswinds Resorts Suites in Tagaytay?
To jump start your 2013 travel planning, how about a giveaway for an overnight stay at Crosswinds Resort Suites in Tagaytay? It’s for a studio room for two with breakfast included. The room comes with a fully equipped kitchen, and since they don’t charge a corkage fee, you can bring your own food and snacks.
First, the fine print:
- You will be getting a voucher for this deal from Deal Grocer: Breathtaking Swiss-Inspired Escape: Studio Room for 2
- You must be able to pick up the voucher from the Nuffnang Philippines office at Bonifacio High Street
- Redeeming the coupon is only valid between January 15, 2013 to June 30, 2013.
- It cannot be redeemed on Friday, Saturday, and declared holidays.
If you are amenable to those conditions, let’s get on with the mechanics! It’s simple, just answer this question: Where do you want to go in 2013? Answer the question in the comment box below. Get extra points for sharing this post to your friends, and for liking Deal Grocer’s page.
Giveaway runs until 11:5pm, December 30, 2012. Winner will be announced on December 31, 2012.

definitely Sumilon Island! the beach looks divine. i love to splurge at Peacock Garden in Bohol too!
Sadly, I’ll be skipping my standard 3 countries/year trip for a month long vacation in the US. Although I am looking forward to visiting new states 🙂
Now that’s a nice prize!
As for me, I wanna start backpacking Southeast Asia already!
Cambodia! 🙂
My parents have always wanted to go on a getaway somewhere, and I wish I could afford to give them one. Sumilon Island sounds romantic for them, or Baguio! (Since they always wanted to go there)
Sumilon Island would look very enticing; added to the fact that this is somewhere in Cebu adds up as a sweetener! 🙂
I will look into this as we would want to experience a secluded tropical get-away far from the crowds – this should hopefully add up to our things to do in the Philippines in the first 3 months of 2013.
Hope to see you soon Nina! Before we head off to our next adventure, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year…
Cheers

Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar… or better yet buong Southeast Asia na lang. Kailangan ko ng mag-start mang-holdap ng bangko. LOL!
I hope to squeeze in Borobudur in my 2013 travels huhu T.T
i wanna go to pagasa island!
Islands always have a charm for me, so Sumilon Island it is. =) If not, Peacock Garden in Bohol looks nice too. =)
Will be grounded this year (you know why), so I’ll probably vacation somewhere nearby. Am thinking Bohol or Palawan. Or if we really can’t afford to fly because of the logistics involved, a pet-friendly resort somewhere in Luzon most likely.
Australia is my dream country! I’ll visit it in 2013, I just have to get a visa first.
Tokyo, Japan with my husband!
Parang maganda sa Sumilon Island!

Singapore/Malaysia for the weekend, and hopefully the US for summer (keeping my fingers crossed), and perhaps finally Ilocos region. 🙂
Ilocos would be ideal so I can maximize the things that I can do. I would also want to try surfing in Baler, La Union or Surigao. 😀
I want to go to Europe! It’ll be my first time 🙂
Cebu!
I wanna go to South Korea!
I’m dying to go to Palawan. 🙂
Arena Island it is! Shalabels sa rates! Hehe I also want to revisit Sumilon Island, but a trip to Peacock Garden Bohol will surely be awesome too!
I’ll just go with the flow. Baka Afghanistan if I feel suicidal LOL. Just kidding. Happy New Year!
Still aiming for a trip to Japan for 2013. Hopefully it’ll push through 🙂
Hoping for backpacking trip of southeast asian trip..
Hoping to go to Myanmar to finish my SEA hopping. 🙂
I want to go back and explore Cebu. 🙂
I’d love to visit Sumilon Island in Cebu! and hopefully, visit Oslob also to meet some Whale sharks! always been in my bucketlist :))
My plans include Lucban during Pahiyas, Isla Verde Batangas with family, Davao, Dumaguete, Iloilo, Coron, Calaguas and Caramoan. Plans change and winning a deal will be a most welcome and pleasant surprise!
I definitely want to go back to the serene and white beaches of Bantayan Island in Cebu! Sumilon Island also looks inviting!
I wanna go to El Nido Palawan 🙂
Where to, where to. There’s so much to explore around the country. I’m definitely going to Corregidor before the summer; got a voucher for that, too from Deal Grocer. Besides that, Bataan and Mt. Manalmon are on my 2013 go-to list.
I wanna go to Batanes (dubbed as the Nex Zealnd of the Philippines). As for international destination, definitely Brazil. 🙂
Yehey! Thanks Nina. This is a very nice surprise for the New Year. Happy New Year and more power to you!
