2013: The trips I never blogged about

When writing my year end posts, I browse through my photo archive and my blog archive. I noticed that there’s a huge discrepancy between the two: there were plenty of photos, but hardly ever any blog posts.

Cintai Corito’s Garden is made for relaxing

Frankly, I am aghast at my laziness with my blogging, with most of the blog posts I wrote this year were for sponsored products, hotel stays, and advertorials. It seems I am only arsed to blog when I’m obligated to. There was no pressure to write about my personal trips, so I kept putting it off until I find myself not wanting to write about them anymore.

In hot water in Tibiao, Antique

Like that time in April when we went to spend a day in Balay Indang. Ever since we went there for a wedding last year, it has become our go-to place when we want to get away from the city and get off the grid.

It’s a joy to walk around Melbourne, exploring the alleys and lanes to discover amazing street art

Or that time I dragged Cla, Upper, and Chyng to overnight at Cintai Corito’s Garden. While everybody was rushing to go to the office, we were driving south to Sto. Thomas, Batangas, where we were welcomed by an almost deserted resort. We had the entire place to ourselves until the other guests arrived at 4 in the afternoon. Cellular signal was hard to come by there, so we alternated between swimming, napping, and eating their amazing food.

Gertrude Street Projection, Melbourne

I also went on a week-long trip around Panay Island in late May. I started and ended the trip in Roxas, made my way to Boracay to meet with friends. As beautiful as Boracay is, we set off for Carabao Island in Romblon, and then to Tibiao, Antique, when we got tired of lazing about in the beach.

The Museum of Old and New Art in Tasmania blew our mind

Shortly after that, I went to Australia, where I stayed for two and a half months. You’d think I’d be able to blog a lot then, but noooo. The thing is, it wasn’t one of those trips. It’s a trip to visit family, and I fell into the same habits as if I am at home. I lived like a local – making the weekly trip to the market for meat and fresh produce, walking my niece and nephew to and from their school, doing the laundry in between. Yeah, I don’t think you’d want to read about that.

Goodbye for now?

I may have some regrets not blogging those trips this year, but I do not regret enjoying myself, not thinking about how I’m going to write it, and trying to remember all the necessary details. In the end, what matters most to me is the experience, not the blog. The goal is to travel, after all. And that’s what I did.

…sometimes, you’d be surprised what your friends & followers would like to read about your amazing travels. The funny thing is—I would’ve loved to hear about your laundry adventures Down Under! ๐Ÿ™‚ Can’t wait to see what you’ve got in store for 2014!

You have such weird tastes hahahhaa. I dunno, I feel out of sorts when it comes to blogging lately. The right mood doesn’t seem to strike too often nowadays

I’m going to second that. Would love to read about how you live like a local every now and then ๐Ÿ™‚ Happy New Year, Nins!

I actually feel the same laziness for blogging: making sure I get all the “right” photos, thinking of a blog post, etc. I just really want to enjoy experiences than making sure they get documented. Most days, I turn selfish I want to keep these amazing experiences to myself.

Happy New Year Nins! Wishing you more life experiences to cherish (and not just those you “need to” blog about) ๐Ÿ™‚

That’s EXACTLY what I’m feeling! Maybe i just need to take a break and not pressure myself.

Anyhoo, Happy New Year to you too! I hope you don’t freeze over there!

I blogged less this year too. I can relate to what you mentioned here. I have lots of stories to tell, but I don’t want to be pressured to type it out, add photos and publish everything. Buti na lang may journal pa akong bitbit hehe ๐Ÿ˜€ Thanks sa postcards teh ๐Ÿ˜€ Hope to travel w/ you again this 2014!

Happy New Year, Nina. I’ve lost my will to blog for quite some time and have only been able to regain it somewhat just recently. Yes, there are those kinds of trips that just nurture the soul not blog viewership. I’m glad you found your peace in your travels this year. Pls don’t stop blogging though, ever. Haha! You have a heart when it comes to travelling. At least share a little tidbit here and there because wherever you go, many of us are with you in that moment too. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks George! I’ll probably take it easy muna and write when the mood strikes. I have to admit, Instagram made me lazy to blog!

Happy 2014 Nina! I’m one lazy blogger too. Especially in documenting our family trips this year. One reason is that, I’m not a good storyteller like you, it might end up as a photodump. Another thing is that I get overwhelmed with lots of photos, pag-edit pa lang, pagod na ako haha…

Ay oo! Sobrang nakakatamad mag edit ng photos! Kaya natatamad na rin magsulat hahaha

Happy New year, Nina! Although, I am still a neophyte in blogging, but I also feel the same way for 2013. Sana better sa 2014. Cheers! ๐Ÿ™‚

Happy New Year to you too, Elal! I hope you have more travels this 2014! (kebs na sa blog, basta mag travel!)

Hi Nina, I haven’t blogged as much last year din. Blogging became a bit of a stress than more of a reliever when I tried forcing to blog. I was also establishing my roots in the UAE kaya medyo may excuse. hehe. Really, mas nagfocus ako sa ibang sites kaya naging busy din. Now I’m not pressuring myself as much to write about my experiences. Depende na lang.

Happy new year (belated). Was supposed to comment here before pero nagkaproblema yung internet kaya natamad din magcomment uli. hehe.
