Anyway, my unforgettable trip was in Hawaii. I was there last August to take an exam. What made it memorable was the people. Very warm and friendly. A couple of notable things were…
I got to go to the famous Waikiki Beach (which was just across my hotel) I even went to the place where they shot 50 First Dates.
They have shrimp shacks, it was $12 a plate but very well worth it.
I also went to the island of Kauai, very very nice and quiet place.
I love how Hawaiians balance urbanizing their island against protecting the environment. I saw a couple of housing facilities that already have solar panels. I was told that these were military housing. Everything is going green nowadays which is a good thing. I want to take the LEED exam someday. ( to better design structures that minimize the effect of development on the environment) There should always be a balance between development and loving the environment. That’s one of the reasons why I took and passed my CFM exam (certified flood manager) This is a program geared towards flood mitigation and management.
I am a certified manga addict. I own over 600 volumes of English Manga. That’s why when i went to hawaii, i bought around 40 volumes of used manga from Jelly’s. This is the best place to go for manga. The manga looks new and are mostly $2-$5 each.
I can site a lot more reasons. A hundred and one, even.
Writing this has made me miss Hawaii. I hope I can go back there next year for our annual convention.
I will always love Hawaii! ^_^
