This 2009, the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a new logo, and year-round festivities featuring special performances and events clustered around the themes of Excellence of Filipino Artists; Brave New Works: Original Filipino Creations; and Cultural Empowerment: Flourishing of the Arts in the Regions.
On February 1, the celebrations will formally start with the annual CCP Pasinaya Open House Festival. Several programs and exhibitions will follow suit, but the one event I’m really excited about is the return of the Zsa Zsa Zaturnah (Ze MuZikal) on February 3-8 and 10-15. There are tons more events happening at the CCP during the first half of the year, including exhibitions, summer arts workshops, spoken words festival and the Cinemalaya in June.
