This is how Tuesdays should be spent

Just as I have a list of things to see and do when I travel, I also have a list of food to eat when I come home from a long trip. These are usually local favorites that I don’t get to indulge on while on the road. This time though, it’s mostly fast food.

Surprisingly, I was able to stay away from the golden arches I came across while traveling in Southeast Asia. I ignored the calls of Colonel Sanders, but I did end up hungrily devouring a very close imitation of Jollibee’s Chicken Joy in Singapore.

So when Rotch asked me what I want to have for lunch (breakfast for me), I blurted out “something not healthy.” That pretty much set the mood for today’s unplanned pigfest. We ended up at the nearby Yellow Cab, with a Corona Chicken Salsa pizza and a Chicken Alfredo Pasta between us.

After running errands in the city, I spent the rest of the afternoon at the pool with Rey, amidst the drizzle. Whatever calories that was burned while swimming was gained back thanks to our sinfully delightful 2-piece fried chicken from KFC slathered with glorious gravy. Not satisfied, we capped the evening with ice cream and french fries from S&R.

Greasy fast food, good friends and gossiping in between. This is what I love most about coming home.

Yum! I miss KFC only because I don’t have enough time to go to the nearest store 🙂

When I come home from a trip abroad, I always look forward for a hearty sinigang and seafood fiesta. From the airport, we head to the Seafood Palutuan along Macapagal Blvd.
