Note from the Lion city

Yes, I’m back in Singapore. You’d think after all these years I’d get tired of this city, but no. Everytime I come here there’s always something new to discover.

Today I made two new discoveries: great Thai food along Bencoolen Street that would not burn a hole in your pocket and oh so yummy xiao long bao from Din Tai Fung.

Of course, a trip to Singapore means reconnecting with family and friends. As more and more Pinoys come here to work, a weekend would not be enough to meet up with all friends, former co-workers and classmates who are now based here. Luckily, I was able to meet up with Mr. Whattaworld and Ms Ahrvederyet before they fly off to Europe, and Kaoko and friends who are also here for the weekend.

I’ll be country hopping again in 11 hours, flying to a country that I haven’t visited since 1995. And I’m totally unprepared. This is going to be fun.
