cheap_airline_tickets – Just Wandering https://justwandering.org Filipina budget traveler, set to explore the world Wed, 10 Oct 2012 17:46:53 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://i0.wp.com/justwandering.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/cropped-jw.png?fit=32%2C32&ssl=1 cheap_airline_tickets – Just Wandering https://justwandering.org 32 32 35669073 Holy packing sheet! https://justwandering.org/2006/destination/thailand/cebu-pacific-bangkok/ https://justwandering.org/2006/destination/thailand/cebu-pacific-bangkok/#comments Thu, 19 Oct 2006 11:35:01 +0000 https://justwandering.org/index.php/2006/10/19/holy-packing-sheet/ I am now starting to LOVE Cebu Pacific.

Bangkok via Cebu Pacific

From what I can gather, flights out of Manila are on Wednesdays, Thursday, Saturdays and Sundays, while flights out of Bangkok are on Thursdays, Fridays, Sundays and Mondays. Haha, perfect for a weekend SHOPPING getaway!

Similar to their Singapore and Kuala Lumpur flights, the Manila-Bangkok route also flies in the middle of the night:

Manila – Bangkok
ETD: 22:45
ETA: 00:50 (+1)

Bangkok – Manila
ETD: 01:35
ETA: 05:30

With the current promo, a round trip fare is approximately Php7,008.00. I’m not sure how much it will cost on a regular fare, because the flight schedules for dates after the promo travel dates aren’t posted yet. Hopefully, it won’t cost more than Php10,000.

I’ve scratched out Bangkok from my list of destinations next year, but with this new development, I think I’m heading back to the City of Angels 😉

P.S. Fever’s down. Hopefully, it’d remain down until tomorrow.

Kuala Lumpur via Cebu Pacific https://justwandering.org/2006/everything-travel-related/kuala-lumpur-via-cebu-pacific/ https://justwandering.org/2006/everything-travel-related/kuala-lumpur-via-cebu-pacific/#comments Thu, 12 Oct 2006 11:36:37 +0000 https://justwandering.org/index.php/2006/10/12/kuala-lumpur-via-cebu-pacific/ We interrupt our regular programming for this awesome announcement I received in the mail today:

Introducing [tag]Cebu Pacific[/tag]’s newest regional destination. . . KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA!

Fly from MANILA TO KUALA LUMPUR (vice versa) for only 1,499 pesos one-way!

Visit the truly Asian capital and experience the unique fusion of cultural heritage, colorful festivals and endless shopping on our introductory fare.

HURRY, catch the KUALA LUMPUR SEAT SALE from October 11 – 18, 2006 only! Travel period is from November 30, 2006 to January 31, 2007.

They will be flying from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila, and landing at KL’s [tag]Low Cost Carrier[/tag]Terminal. Promo fare amounts to around Php6,000. Not a bad deal. Similar to their Singapore schedule, the Manila-KL route is late at night/very early in the morning:

Manila – Kuala Lumpur
ETD: 20:55 (8:55pm)
ETA: 00:25 (12:25am)

Kuala Lumpur – Manila
ETD: 01:10 (1:10am)
ETA: 05:00 (5:00am)

Oh the irony. I’m currently holding a ticket to an Air Asia destination originating and returning in [tag]Kuala Lumpur[/tag], while my Manila-Kuala Lumpur leg is still in a limbo. The travel dates in the ticket I’m holding is before January 31, 2007, so this piece of announcement is great news.

Unfortunately, my plans right now are pretty messed up, and I’m actually considering re-scheduling this January trip. Talk about bad timing. Bleah.

Jetstar: Connecting Asia and Australia https://justwandering.org/2006/everything-travel-related/jetstar-asia-connecting-asia-and-australia/ https://justwandering.org/2006/everything-travel-related/jetstar-asia-connecting-asia-and-australia/#comments Mon, 11 Sep 2006 15:34:18 +0000 https://justwandering.org/index.php/2006/09/11/jetstar-asia-connecting-asia-and-australia/ So I was skulking around Jetstar’s website again and discovered two things:

  1. The introduction of the StarClass for International flights on the A330; and
  2. Starting November 23, 2006, they will start flying from Melbourne and Sydney to Bangkok, Phuket (November 24), Vietnam (November 30), Denpasar (December 8) and Osaka (March 25, 2007)

This is probably every backpacker/budget traveler’s dream come true. Of course, there’s Tiger Airways who flies from Singapore to Darwin, but Jetstar will be offering more flights to Asia from southeast Australia.

I’m actually giddy about this. On the other hand, I really should get a life.

Oasis Air, the Hong Kong based long-haul low-cost carrier is now accepting bookings for its first flight to London-Gatwick on October 25. Round trip economy fares starts at HK$3,643 (Php25,501), while business class fares starts at HK$15,163 (Php 106,141).

25K for a roundtrip ticket to Europe? *droool* I like.

Oasis also boasts of individual TV screens for ALL passengers, complimentary meals for all class (special meals available for purchase), and online check in.

Future destinations includes Germany (Cologne/Bonn & Berlin), Italy (Milan), and the USA (San Fransisco & Chicago).

I can’t wait for 2008 😀

Singapore via Cebu Pacific! – Updated! https://justwandering.org/2006/everything-travel-related/singapore-via-cebu-pacific-2/ https://justwandering.org/2006/everything-travel-related/singapore-via-cebu-pacific-2/#comments Thu, 20 Jul 2006 21:48:35 +0000 https://justwandering.org/index.php/2006/07/21/singapore-via-cebu-pacific-2/ Cebu Pacific’s website and booking facilities now includes Singapore! I tried booking to see how much the fare would cost.

The promo fare (buy from July 20 – 26, travel from Aug 31 – Oct 19) amounts to PHP 6,327.00.

The non-promo fare amounts to Php 8,327.00 roundtrip.

Not bad, eh? It comes out higher than Tiger Airway’s roundtrip fares, but at least you get to fly from (the pitiful) NAIA Terminal 1. The question now is, how will their service fare compared to their competitors’?

One downside to Cebu Pacific’s new route is the time. Though they will be flying to and from Singapore daily, the timing is a bit off:

Departure from Manila is at 8:30pm, arrive in Singapore at 11:55pm
Departure from Singapore is at 12:40am, arrive in Manila at 4:05am

I suppose it’s great if you need to be in Singapore or Manila for a meeting the following day, hahaha. It’d suck if you’re paying for accommodations in Singapore because you’d be paying for a whole night when you’d only be staying for only half of it. I’m so glad I have relatives in Singapore. 😀

Update!
Starting December 19, 2006, Cebu Pacific will be offering TWO flights to and from Singapore.

Departing Manila:
ETD Manila 1630
ETA Singapore 2000

ETD Manila 2030
ETA Singapore 2355

Departing Singapore:
ETD Singapore 0040
ETA Manila 0405

ETD Singapore 1900
ETA Manila 2230

I found out about this when I check the fares for flights next year. How sad is my life?

Another update: August 8, 2006
It seems I have spoke blogged too soon, because when a couple of days ago, I checked the flight scheds again, and was dismayed to see that Cebu Pacific is back to one flight a day. Pffft~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

(2ND UPDATE) CEBU Pacific Air Inc, the airline unit of JG Summit Holdings Inc, said it will resume daily flights between Manila and Singapore starting August 31 after a three-year suspension.

Cebu Pacific said in a statement it will be the first international airline to use Singapore’s new Budget Terminal.
