Local aircraft enthusiasts will have a closer look at the super jumbo jet which is scheduled to arrive at 2:45 p.m. and land at the NAIA\u2019s longest runway, the 3,700-meter long 06\/24 runway.<\/p>\n

The giant aircraft, which requires only 1,500 meters of landing space, will line up for its final approach in the vicinity of Antipolo flying toward the South Luzon Expressway.<\/p>\n

The aircraft can be clearly seen at The Fort in Taguig City but can be best viewed at the east-west service roads of the South Luzon Expressway near the gates of Villamor Airbase and Merville Subdivision.

\nUpon loading, the double-deck aircraft will taxi toward NAIA\u2019s remote parking area where officials from the Airbus 380 Industries as well as Manila International Airport Authority officials, to be led by MIAA general manager Alfonso Cusi and other airline companies, will be waiting for a tour of the aircraft\u2019s interiors.<\/p>\n

The state-of-the-art aircraft will dock at an exiting gate of the NAIA to check if the A380 Airbus can utilize the existing movable bridges of the terminal.<\/p>\n

The A380 aircraft will be in Melbourne as part of a series of testing flights that will take it from Toulouse to Dubai and then to Melbourne. Once departing Melbourne the A380 will then head onwards to Manila.<\/p>\n

The A380\u2019s movements are as follows:
\n– Arrives from Dubai: Wednesday 10 October 2007, 1140 hours (estimated).
\n– Departs for Manila: Thursday 11 October 2007, 0800 hours (estimated).<\/p>\n

The flight path of the aircraft will not be known until the day of its arrival.<\/p>\n

DETAILS FOR PUBLIC VIEWING
\nMelbourne Airport will reopen its observation deck specifically for the event. This area can be accessed from T2 (International) – Departures Level, next to the ANZ Foreign Exchange outlet. It will be open to the public from:
\n– Wednesday 10 October: 0900 to 2030 hours
\n– Thursday, 11 October: 0700 to 1000 hours<\/p>\n
