Cookies! It’s been a busy week for me, which is a welcome change from the two weeks I spent moping around the house due to a pesky cold that wouldn’t go away, sleeping problems and typhoons.

First to happen this week was the formal launch of the Blog and Soul Movement, and of the Mrs. Fields Cookie Cafe at the Manila Pavillion last August 21.

Franchise owners Gerwyn and Sheryl See is relaunching the brand in Manila, aiming to attract the coffee shop crowd and bloggers with their cafe’s homey ambiance and free wi-fi. It doesn’t hurt that the cookies are great ;) I heard that their coffee are pretty good as well. Hmm, will I be saying sayonara to Starbucks anytime soon? I think so!

Muffin!Apart from the cookie and sweets overload (free flowing cookies, brownies, coffee and gelato… can you say heaven on earth?), it was great to meet the people behind the blogs. There were familiar faces: Anton, Rache & Aidan, Mrs. Noemi & her family, Ajay & her son, Mila, and Melo (who I met when I was still working for the travel magazine). There were new faces as well: Jayvee, Eric (finally!), and Marcelle (who we first saw performing at the ToyCon).

Nina Fuentes | Lovin' ManilaNina, going through quarterlife crisis, decided to stop talking about traveling and actually start traveling. Starting with a solo weekend trip to Cebu to a backpacking trip in Thailand and Singapore, she finally made it out of Asia and into Australia. After spending close to six months down under, she's happily settled in Manila (for now), intent to explore the best things the Philippines has to offer.
