[Update: September 15, 2014] Philippine passport holders can now apply for an Australian tourist visa online through the IMMI website. Application fee must be paid via credit card. You can still apply in person through VFS.

I am not a visa officer, nor am I migration agent. I am in no way affiliated with the Australian Embassy Manila nor with the Australian government. This post comes from my experience with preparing and submitting visa applications for family members and for myself. Also note that this entry pertains to my experience in applying for an Australian tourist visa in October 2006. The Australian immigration update their forms every 3 months. I will try to answer your questions the best way that I can, but bear in mind that a lot has changed since 2006. If you ask a question I’ve already answered in the post, I will ignore you.
One of the questions people ask me when I tell them I’ve been to Australia is if it’s easy to get a tourist visa. Almost everybody in Manila have heard of stories of how hard it is to obtain a US tourist visa: compiling documents like birth certificate, bank statements, even land titles O_O, paying a high application fee, waiting in line for hours for an interview. Is it as hard to get a tourist visa for Australia as it is for the US?
Actually, it’s not whether it’s harder on not, but it really boils down to how complete your documents are. I believe all embassies would be very meticulous about all the applications they receive, and it is really important to send them all the required documents.
Be it the Australian embassy, the US embassy or the Chinese embassy, they all want to know the same thing: that you are who you say you are, that you have the means to fund your trip in their country, and that you will be returning to your home country.
Proof of identity
This of course, is your passport and your birth certificate.
Proof of sufficient funds
Bank statements, credit card documents stating your credit limit, payslip
Proof that you’re not going to be an illegal immigrant
Certificate of employment if you’re already working or certificate of enrollment if you’re still studying

My bf said, his friend who is a New Zealand Citizen living in Melbourne will marry a filipina. The girl was granted a TV and they will get marry once she come to Melbourne. And they will just get a New Zealand passport for the girl to be able to enter australia without applying for the PMV because its expensive to get PMV right?
Bf wants us to do the same, but I can’t research any details if thats possible or a detailed requirements or qualification in obtaining a New Zealand passport for someone who didnt even lived there. Hope someone can help. Thanks in advance.

Parang hindi ata ganun kadali makakuha ng nz passport lalo na ikakasal palang sila she needs to be a nz citizen before she can get a passport. Hi Anne,I’m belle i lodged my TV application last July 22 actually my second time.I was granted the first time last Dec 2013 it took only 5 days they grant my visa.(with the help of immigration agent in Australia).So this time I did my own self lodggement through courier and until now still checking my tracking number and it say still processing it took already 3 weeks.Anyone in here have a the same issues.thank you.

are u applying for australian partner visa? kasi i been in that process and kakaalis ko lang ng pinas this july lang wala namang CFO na hinanap. and u said yung friend mo is USA pumunta siguro in US visa they need it but in australia wala naman.. just to clear things kasi some people are reading this site wala pong CFO na hinahanap in immigration both australia and philippines bago ka umalis ng pinas and pumasok ng australia. the best way is mag basa kau ng CHECHLIST before applying the PMV or any partner visa. i been process all the visa start from tourist, pmv, partner and now pr, wala naman.. kasi if u will read all the stories from the start meron dito kasabayan ko noon na nag take ng seminar and things like what she hear to get the visa granted pero na denied ung application niya. Hello everyone! Thank you to this site sobra. It helped me a lot with my previous visa and my visa now. It has been so long since I made a comment here but since sisters here are very keen to help everyone , I just want to share my experience. ILL start with my first visa tourist visa for 3 months…mabilis ang process last year september..my airline was jetstar, no problem. Manila to sg and sg to melbourne. I went there oct and came back to phil with my boyfriend and his mate. My boyfriend who is an aussie had problems at sg since his mum bought his ticket as a gift. Jetstar is telling him na they need the credit card holder or the card itself…We managed to convince the lady so we checked in. Months after that i applied again for multiple entry visa and was quick a quick process(5 days) but my co called me and asked me questions and told me shell approve 3 month multiple entry visa. Aside from aussie visa i applied for.japanese visa too and to tell u what they are very strict problema andami got my passport 2 days before my departure to oz. Now this is a hard part I went to manila to check in for jetstar the lady told me they need the card holder and the owner but since boyfriend ko naloka ako..i told her this hasnt happend to me before she said new system daw..nganga!. She told me what i can do is to buy a ticket in cash or my bf will verify the card.Nasa work and bf ko at that time and naloka din xa..drive xa but unfortunately the check im counter is closed so i missed it. Bf bought another flight..and of course we know it will happen in sg he sent me money just in case so i can pay my flight sg to oz. Nashuang ko kakahanap ng western union. Taas na ng msg ko mga sisies nxt time na yung story ko…sorry po taas na ng story ko pang mmk..ingat kayo. Amping mo..

Hello everyone…As of this moment po I am really confused what visa to apply next time..still looking for student visa para maka pag study ako and at the same time I can work…but im not sure if online courses would convince the embassy to grant me a student visa po next year ….any thoughts po? Or any advice mga ate…? I am currently holding a multiple entry visa 🙁 sana po matulongan nyo po ako..salamat ngarami mga ate.

Next week pa ako apply nag inquire lang ung fiancee ko kse wlang restriction sa visa kya pwede ako mag extend, ayon another 9 mos, mlaman konpag nag apply na ako ng extension message kita. 3hundred plus for extension fee, at malalaman ko din kung kelangan ko ba mag exit or hindi, san ka dito sa qld?

I would like to thank all those who helpfully answered my query and patiently explained the process of applying a visa.
Last March, I met an NZ Citizen (thru chat) who moved to AU and invited me to come over.
I applied for my Tourist Visa last April, after 3 days I was granted a 3 months single-entry TV without “no further stay” condition. I arrived in Brisbane, Australia last June 1st and it’s the first time me and bf met face-to-face. Two weeks before my TV expired, I applied for visa extension (further stay). Blessed, I was granted 2 months multiple entry visa extension without “no further stay” condition.
The day after I received the visa extension (september 3rd), we submit notice for intend to marriage. We were married after a month. It took two weeks after the wedding that I was able to get our Marriage Certificate which is the main reqt for applying NZ Citizen Family Relation (461 Subclass Visa). Less the two weeks before my visa extension expired, I submitted my 461 Visa application and was given a bridging visa after 3 days.
Blessedly, after a month which is last monday (Nov 24), I received my 461 Visa grant.

ah ok un nga wait na lng u kc once may decision na cla kontakin ka agad..sakin un una mabilis lng pero ung 2nd umabot ng almost a month pero granted naman..ill be travelling january next year.good luck and keep on praying.God bless..

hi po..every applicant po dapat may form 1419 and attached requirements..separate payment for each too but need na ilagay sa application kung sino un kasama u po..hope it helps
