Cheap guesthouses in Boracay – Just Wandering

Cheap guesthouses in Boracay

If you’re headed to Boracay this summer, here’s a guide that I hope would help you in planning your trip. Before December, I’ve always thought that the cheap accommodations in Boracay were all at Station 3. I was so glad to find out that there are reasonably priced rooms in Station 2, and near D’mall too!

Guide to cheap accomodation in Boracay Station 2

Obviously, this map is not to scale.

If you’ve been to Boracay before, you would probably be able to gauge the location of this alley. If you’re a first timer, don’t fret! I’ll be giving directions on how to go there, and a list of the resort’s contact numbers.

From the jetty port in Cagban (Boracay Island), ride a tricycle to D’mall. The driver will drop you off across the entrance. Head down the path between Julie’s Bakeshop and Budget Mart. You’ll come upon the Ferris wheel. Continue down the path between Lemon Cafe and Cindy’s, going on until you’re at the main beach road, between Aria and Cafe del Sol.

Soak in the sight of the turquoise waters and feel how fine the white sand is on your feet. Turn left, and walk down the road. You’ll pass Hey Jude (they have wi-fi) and Gasthof (they have the best baby back ribs in Boracay and awesome breakfast set). You’ll soon come upon this massage place that has a group of their female masseuse out front, chanting out their “cheer” to entice customers. When you pass Mango-Ray, look up, and you’ll see a sign for Sheena’s resort. Right beside it is the ES Pascual Store:

Boracay 02

Right after the store is the alley. If you’re coming from Station 3, this is what you’ll see:

Boracay 03

The alley itself looks like this from the beach road:

Boracay 04

And there you have it! You’re in a place where you can get rooms for as low as Php 1,000 in the lean season (or even during regular seasons if you get a discount). Save for Sheena’s resort, all the accommodations in this alley are very affordable (Sheena’s rooms start at Php 3,000 per night for two).

To further assist you in your quest to find cheap accomodation in Boracay, here’s a list of the contact number of all the guesthouses in that alley:

Again, here’s the video I took of the walk from Tans Guesthouse to the Boracay white beach:

In 00:03 you can see the staircase of Jerome Bungalow in between the pillars, in 00:04 you see Eriko’s House, 00:05 is Madid’s Inn and at 00:06 Jejsellends is at the right. At 00:12, see the palm tree? That’s Villa Simprosa, right across Taj Guesthouse, which starts at 00:15. At 00:26, the guy at the right is inquiring at Sheena’s reception desk, while across it, at 00:27 is Namaste. At 00:32, you can see a reception desk for Villa Simprosa at the ES Pascual Store. At 00:37 is the beach road and at 00:42 is Sheena’s Resort and Restaurant’s beach front. On the left of that is Tans Grill, which only opens at night. The beach proper starts at 00:52.

I hope this helps you in picking out where to stay in Boracay. Have a nice trip!

Aejie: I’m glad you think so 😀

Dyanie: Cagban is the port in Boracay. I updated the entry na to clarify, thanks for asking ^_^ From Caticlan airport, you still have to ride a trike to the jetty port in Caticlan. Not sure how much it cost, but it’s a very short ride.

I didn’t know that GP’s Resort is now under a different name until I saw your pics. I stayed there back in 1998 when that store wasn’t even there. How things have changed!

I’ve read about Island Nook over at the Girltalk forums. A number of the members are considering that as an alternative to Tans daw. Haven’t seen it personally though.

hey! we stayed at tan;s guesthouse when it just opened i think. around 2-3 years ago i forgot na but i remember we went to boracay, arriving at night without a reservation because someone told us that we could just get one there hahahahaha. then the tricycle driver brought us there kase we asked him where is it good to stay that’s cheap. then he brought us there. we gave him a very good tip that night 😀

  14. dong ho Avatar

wow! i too recommend jeromes. we stayed there once. quite cheap and the location is really good. not far from the beach and just a short walk to DMall. thanks for the video im sure this will help others choose a resort.

Hi Siren, I’m not sure, since I don’t know where Turtle Inn is. But thanks for the mention, i’ll look for it next time 🙂

Thanks so much to the person who posted this site…. its sooo helpful. Thanks so much. By the way as may way of contributing to this thread…. iF you have plans on trying out the Caramoan peninsula ( where they shot Survivor France before I think its Survivor Israel that is currently being shot right now… at least at the time we went there around April 09) beware!… travel is difficult since travel amenities are not for the leisure travelers… and its quite expensive the prices are not regulated by the local auhtorities so the local bankeros may try to rip you off with their overpriced deals (banka rental should just be around 1000 to 3000 depending on the size of the boat your renting) but its suppose to be less than that. Point is… it’s more expensive than going to bora. Well, on the positive side..although you won’t get to enter gota beach where their shooting survivor… there’s alot of other white sand beaches you can visit among the many islands you can visit but the best is Nipa Beach. Goin to Caramoan is difficult but its worth the thrill of visiting undeveloped islands where you can just camp out for the night plus there’s an island with a watch tower like that in Ilocos and one with a giant statue of Mama Mary a top an island hill with about 600 steps to booth ( if you’re a fan of the grotto in Baguio)…hahaha. While in CamSur (Camarines Sur) you might also want to drop by the Wakeboading center at Pili Capitol Complex. 100% worth trying. Its cool, fun and the crowd is so nice you might even get rob elbows with local showbiz celebrities.

hi again miss justwandering.org 🙂 just got back from boracay as i promise here’s my testi. this blog has been very very helpful. This has gave me an idea where to stay in Boracay in a very affordable house/room. Taj was my target then but we end up at Eriko’s due to the first has no rooms available. Eriko’s also has a nice room complete with ref, tv with cable, free use of towels, nice CR with hot and cold shower, the flush is working and we end up dealing with Ate for the rate of 1,100 per night. Just use your haggling skills. Oh by the way I took Seair and I was able to book their 350 all-in one-way air fare. So my vacation was really so so kind for my wallet. Thanks again Seair more super duper affordable airfares to come and to ms. nina keep on informing us and more power more travel. by the way nakabook pala ulit ako… Boracay here I come… again!

    hi Nina,

Thanks so much for this Blog… very helpful!
Just a question, we’ll be travelling on July 16 -18, 2009, the others said that since it’s not peak season, we can get a cheaper accomodotion when we are already there as compared to reserving it online or prior to arrival. What do you think?
And also, do you know who offers credit card? i want to save my cash for shopping there 😛

    Thanks again.

    Hi Nina,

This is Raymond who wrote about Giddy’s place in Donsol. Just saw this as I was browsing for bora rooms for a guest here in Donsol. I own D’Spa in D’Mall and I actually have 3 attic rooms available. All have aircon, cable TV, individual bathroom with hot shower, shared ref and WiFi. The smallest (twin bed) is 1,000 for off season and 1,500 in season. Next one is twin + single at 1,500 (2,000) and 3rd (queen) is at 2,000 (2,500).

They can email me at info@boracayspa.com for reservations or they can call Boracay directly at +63 (2) 425-2601 (Manila Number that rings in Boracay).

    Thanks…

Hmmm…looks very handy. I will definitely check it out. Will be there 2nd week of December. No place to stay yet just the tickets are ready. Accommodation is not really a big deal for me and would rather spend my money on the activities/drinks/food.

Im also going to Bora on the 2nd week of Dec with 2 friends. There are so many resorts/hotels to choose from. Id like to put more money for beach activities than spend it more for a place to stay.
Is it ok to just go there without reservation at this time of the year? Do you think we can get a nice and affordable place to stay on the 2nd week of Dec without reservation?

La Bella Casa de Boracay is located at Station 1 Balabag Boracay Island Malay Aklan. It is really closed to Balabag Church. Accessible to all types of land transportation. Willy’s is our hotel partner at the beach front. La Bella is less than 2 minutes going to the beach. For all the guest who wants to stay and enjoy the sun, they can use the beach facility of Willy’s like sun bed for free.

Who says staying at the hotel in Boracay to enjoy your vacation is expensive? Now La Bella is really giving a very very low rates on rooms. We have superior room for two (2), deluxe room for three (3) and family room for four (4) and 1 attic family fan room that is good for 10 people. All our rooms are fully airconditioned except the attic room. With hot and cold shower. Cable tv for free as well as WIFI Internet. 24/7 generator on stand by.
