[Update: September 15, 2014] Philippine passport holders can now apply for an Australian tourist visa online through the IMMI website. Application fee must be paid via credit card. You can still apply in person through VFS.

I am not a visa officer, nor am I migration agent. I am in no way affiliated with the Australian Embassy Manila nor with the Australian government. This post comes from my experience with preparing and submitting visa applications for family members and for myself. Also note that this entry pertains to my experience in applying for an Australian tourist visa in October 2006. The Australian immigration update their forms every 3 months. I will try to answer your questions the best way that I can, but bear in mind that a lot has changed since 2006. If you ask a question I’ve already answered in the post, I will ignore you.
One of the questions people ask me when I tell them I’ve been to Australia is if it’s easy to get a tourist visa. Almost everybody in Manila have heard of stories of how hard it is to obtain a US tourist visa: compiling documents like birth certificate, bank statements, even land titles O_O, paying a high application fee, waiting in line for hours for an interview. Is it as hard to get a tourist visa for Australia as it is for the US?
Actually, it’s not whether it’s harder on not, but it really boils down to how complete your documents are. I believe all embassies would be very meticulous about all the applications they receive, and it is really important to send them all the required documents.
Be it the Australian embassy, the US embassy or the Chinese embassy, they all want to know the same thing: that you are who you say you are, that you have the means to fund your trip in their country, and that you will be returning to your home country.
Proof of identity
This of course, is your passport and your birth certificate.
Proof of sufficient funds
Bank statements, credit card documents stating your credit limit, payslip
Proof that you’re not going to be an illegal immigrant
Certificate of employment if you’re already working or certificate of enrollment if you’re still studying

hey guys,air21 picked up my documents Oct 22 and the Australian Embassy send me a text message they receieved my papers Oct 24..Just today air21 sent me a text their going to delivered my papers..But I got no idea if my TV is grant or NOT..no message from the embassy regarding my application.kinda nervous right now..
yeah, hindi nila sasabihin sayo if grant or denied…just wait for it to be delivered, good luck sis! update us 🙂

Hi Rose, yes you can apply for another visa pag uwi mo kahit na ilang araw ka lang nag stay dun sa oz…Once na umuwi ka ng pinas parang expire na din yung 3 months visa mu kasi single entry lang yun i cant remember the right term for it pero ganun…kaya pwede kn mag-apply ulit ng another visa…:))
Rose in my fried case she got TV first and then they got married there after that she’s back to the Philippines and then applied spouse visa..I think that’s your quicker things to do at least you are already married there.
Hi Rose, medyo matagal nga daw ang proseso kapag fiancee visa so instead of doing that i would rather apply for another TV(6 months) when i go back to the Phils. I was afraid to get married on my first visit because i’ve read comment here before na may na-ban daw na pinay. Nagpakasal daw on her first visit here in OZ then umuwi ng pinas and applied for a spouse visa, dun na-trace ng immi na nagpakasal daw yung dalawa at na-ban daw yung girl d2 sa oz for 3 years…no more details mentioned about it, and based sa sinabi ni Czed18 ok lang pala na magpakasal agad on our first visit(under TV)…so siguro na-ban yung girl dahil super new pa lang yung relasyon nya sa aussie, first time magmeet and then suddenly kasal agad? I therefore conclude that as long as GENUINE ang relasyon nyo(you must have an evidence/proof like pics, emails, & etc and make sure na maisama mo sa application mo sa pag lodge mo) and at least medyo matagal na kayo at laging nag uusap then sa tingin ko ok yun sa immi. I also have a friend na nagpakasal last year on her second visit d2 sa oz and now dito na xa nakatira after ma grant application nya for a spouse visa. If you’re not in a hurry to get married then much better to do the right process which is TV first, FV, and lastly SP. Good luck to you Rose and to all of us girls. :))

ask lng po ako if ok lang po ba grant na visa ko at ung sa coe ko and start ng leave ko nov 18 til feb 18. but im plan ko na sa nov 22 pa ang alis ko then back to feb 19 ok lang po yun. as long na b4 3mos tv ko and2 na ako sa pinas.bukas kc mag buy na ako ng ticket. salamat po.

Hi Rose, its fine as long as you can provide the necessary documents and you can both prove that your relationship is genuine. You can ask a friend to make a statement that your relationship is genuine and ipunin mo yung mga tickets or anumang proof na ginawa nyu together maliban sa pics…like nag fishing kayo may license yun or nuod kayo ng concert…depende din sa case officer na may hawak ng applications mu if they are considerate mas malaki chance na ma-approved..nagkita na ba kayo sa pinas?.and the relationship must be a year or so more possibilities…Goodluck!..

Hi Rose, i agrre with Halfblood. Since almost 2 years na pala ang relasyon nyo, he paid you a visit there in the Phils. and you’re going to visit him also here in OZ so theres a BIG possibility na ma’approve application mo for FV. Just follow what halfblood have told you about the necessary documents to gather. Lahat ng documents na makakapagpatunay na genuine ang relasyon nyo, ipasa mo. Mas maganda magpasa ng sobra kesa sa kulang…iprocess man nila ang papers mo hindi ka nenerbyosin dahil confident ka sa ipinasa mo at one day malalaman mo na lang na granted ka. About naman sa pag alis mo, bring your visa grant notice, pictures together, and your fiance’s documents like copy of a passport, I.D., and drivers licence dahil titignan yan ng immi and make sure na sa carry on baggage mo ilagay at hindi sa luggage dahil naicheck in mo na ang luggage mo nyan bago ka dumaan sa immi. May konting tanong lalo at first time mo mag travel like kung sino ang pupuntahan mo d2, ilang months ka mag stay, and etc.. Mga simpleng katanungan lang naman. No need to bring the western union receipts. At sa pagdating mo naman sa OZ airport ichecheck nila yung diclared mong food/beverages kung meron man pero kung mga damit lang dala mo at walang dapat icheck, dun ka sa express way dadaan palabas. May magga-guide kasi kung saan ka dapat dumaan/pumila after nila makita yung declaration form that you filled in bago kapa bumaba ng eroplano…so dont get nervous, ok? Hi Gio…if your bf will support you in everything it’s fine that you don’t have bank statement or credit card. when i applied my tv i declared unemployed and wala ako pinasa na kahit anung docs. All you have to prove is babalik ka ng pinas before your visa expires…Since your bf iwill shoulder your expenses walang probs…Goodluck!

Di pa ko nag papa book sis haha pero either 4 or 5 ng December.. I spent 3 months(may27-aug27,2012. hindi kasi maka get over kami ng partner ko kya gusto nya na apply uli ako for another 3 months uli.bale 5 months na kame nagkasama, dito sya feb1-mar 18,2011 and pag uwi namin nung aug 27 till oct 13. tama bang kahit 1month lng inapply ko i can be granted 3 months and can stay there 3 months? if it is complicated, then 3 months na lng din ilalagay ko. one more thing, can somebody help me, pano ako mkakasave sa pag tawag sa call center avoiding press 1,press 2 etc,ung direct agad sa call center agent.gano ang average time na nacoconsume at how much load ang magagastos to call the ccenter agent for pick up? sna magrant uli.cnt wait to be with my honey na uli.

kung one month lang in-apply eh mgagrant din sya ng 3months according to miss nina. kami kasi ng mga brothers ko 1 week lang nilagay sa app form. then pwede ka rin daw mag stay ng 3months ulit kc un ung visa na ngrant sau.
direct kami sa VIA mag lodge ng application kasi if sa call center mas magastos, i think 30 pesos plus per minute ang call within metro manila then may bayad pa ung delivery. hindi ka rin sure sa length ng usapan so if ur going to compute it, mas mapapamahal ka. unlike kung ppnta ka sa makati sa VIA, 600 lang bayad sa kanila including the delivery of ur documents.
anyone help po ulit, kasi ang brother ko po is policeman dito saten, confused po ako if yes or no isasagot sa question na to. kasi dba pag nagpulis eh may mga training talaga..

hi lightchoco143. hehehe.. i just lodge my application tourist visa for three months., just this day. i submitted- FROM ME: passport ( both original and photocopy), two passport picture, my approved leave of absence and my certificate of employment, my ITR, my intent letter and some two credit card statements with receipts… not mandatory daw ang birth certificate and nbi clearance from me as VIA says. FROM MY SPONSOR WHICH IS MY BOYFRIEND: invitation letter, his passport biopage, driver’s license, birth certificate. his bank statements, his certificate of employment and some other letters that justify that part of his work is that he stays at the resort, where he works. statutory declaration signed by justice of peace. our ym and skype images, our whole month of october ym chats, my conversation to his mom via facebook, my ym and skype images plus ym conversation to his daughter, our package receipts that i sent to him and he sent to me, hehehe..i hope it helps.. plus my family picture pala.. hehehe

Arrived here last Nov. 13 at 1:45PM… Sobrang init dito noong dumating ako pero the breeze is so cold kasi spring pa dito ngayon… Whole day mi nag lakwatsa sa Adelaide City kahapon rose.. I love the place, it’s beautiful and very clean… We had a walk at their beach also pero wala mi naligo kay grabeh katugnaw sa tubig morag naa ice hahaha pero limpyo kaau ilang beach rose wala jud ko kakita og basura… Today Nov. 15 tugnaw kaayo diri naka jacket ko og naka medyas… Late night shopping daw mi tonight…
About the immigration officer at the airport, they were very nice…dali lang kaau ko nahuman sa immi kasi bigay ko lahat sa kanila my documents.. Sa Sydney the immigration officer just asked me saang government agency ako nag work? tapos he said ok, have fun and enjoy your stay/holiday in australia… Mas higpit and taga Custom rose kaya dapat e declare mo lahat ng dala mo.. they will check everything you have…ok lang magdala ng food except fresh food/fruit and also bawal ang mga daing (bulad) and also wood curvings…

hello! maggie in my case i did’nt submit my nbi, i do agent kasi, binigay ko sa agent qo yung nbi, ko pero sabi nya no need na daw yung nbi..so im sure ok lang na kahit wla ka isubmit na nbi..aqo nga eh! granted parin even na wla nbi na si sunbmit nang agent qo. na sayang tuloy yung nbi na kinuha qo di na use, pwo ok parin kasi, granted nman..anaway .gdluck maggie, just hve faith,:)

now, i’m applying again i’m still a 4th yr college student and will graduate next yr october and i am planning to visit australia next yr summer, and will be back on june for my school and my graduation on october.
my aunt will provide all the things that i need from my travel, accommodation, etc.
how can i proved to the australian embassy that my visit is genuine and i have the capabilities to return home . . co’z my aunt will shoulder all the expenses. .i don’t have bank records, land titles, etc. co’z i’m still a student and my aunt is also supporting for my studies, and she’s sending us money for our monthly consume.
please help me .. ..and give me some advice

You posted it here before and when i see it I tried to ask some help from the admin at yun may tumulong naman. they gave me an information. Hingi din ako ng tulong sana sa mga active dito na nakapag apply na ng fiancee visa na na’grant. Sana may makapagbigay din ng advice. gusto ko kasi ma prepare yung necessary documents dahil balita ko 113k ang visa fee. mahal! kaya i have to make sure na tama ipapasa kong docs.
