[Update: September 15, 2014] Philippine passport holders can now apply for an Australian tourist visa online through the IMMI website. Application fee must be paid via credit card. You can still apply in person through VFS.

I am not a visa officer, nor am I migration agent. I am in no way affiliated with the Australian Embassy Manila nor with the Australian government. This post comes from my experience with preparing and submitting visa applications for family members and for myself. Also note that this entry pertains to my experience in applying for an Australian tourist visa in October 2006. The Australian immigration update their forms every 3 months. I will try to answer your questions the best way that I can, but bear in mind that a lot has changed since 2006. If you ask a question I’ve already answered in the post, I will ignore you.
One of the questions people ask me when I tell them I’ve been to Australia is if it’s easy to get a tourist visa. Almost everybody in Manila have heard of stories of how hard it is to obtain a US tourist visa: compiling documents like birth certificate, bank statements, even land titles O_O, paying a high application fee, waiting in line for hours for an interview. Is it as hard to get a tourist visa for Australia as it is for the US?
Actually, it’s not whether it’s harder on not, but it really boils down to how complete your documents are. I believe all embassies would be very meticulous about all the applications they receive, and it is really important to send them all the required documents.
Be it the Australian embassy, the US embassy or the Chinese embassy, they all want to know the same thing: that you are who you say you are, that you have the means to fund your trip in their country, and that you will be returning to your home country.
Proof of identity
This of course, is your passport and your birth certificate.
Proof of sufficient funds
Bank statements, credit card documents stating your credit limit, payslip
Proof that you’re not going to be an illegal immigrant
Certificate of employment if you’re already working or certificate of enrollment if you’re still studying

Every time we talk we finish around 1 am my time and his time 3am we have only 2 hours different time.
Me and ANTHONY we talk almost for 6 months at that day January 3, 2013 he told me to try to apply for tourist visa and his mother gonna sponspor because that time ANTHONY have no work .All my need’s she the one who gonna pay all even his mother and me not even meet yet , but he told me just try we organise all things I search and google some travel agent who can organise our things I found a travel agency its “AIRLITE INT’L TRAVEL & TOURS INC.” they the one who organised all my things I give all my documents and my sponsor documents and after that day JANUARY 12,2013 was lodged at AUSTRALIAN EMBASSY I receive a message from my travel agent that my tourist has denied/ refuse and I received the letter from “AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT ( DEPARTMENT OF IMMIGRATION AND CITIZENSHIP)” they said there not satisfied that all my documents I provided, before I apply tourist visa I find work and I hired
but they not satisfied about my letter from my company because I start only December 29, 2012,and they not satisfied that I have no strong incentives to come back in my country at the end of my proposed visit. And that time I told to ANTHONY and his mom that im not approved to get tourist visa we all sad but its ok we still have time to apply again and that day APRIL 1.2013 ANHTONY told me come and meet me in personal he will stay for 2 months and he quit his job to come in manila .APRIL 28, 2013 ANTHONY and his father come in manila to visit me and there first time to enter my country we stay in BAYWATCH TOWER MALATE MANILA for 15 days and his father too, we go other place in around manila they see the culture in Philippines Manila and the life style of living here, i can see them that they would love to stay in manila too but they rather go back to there country ANTHONY and his father told me again to try apply again a tourist visa. I search about how too apply for tourist visa in AUSTRALIA but I know maybe I don’t have chance,but we need to try again I search and read some blog and I found one website its called “justwandering.org”. Please help me namn.. Meron po ako sponsor na bf ko sa Australia. Gusto nya po kasi ako mag tour dun for 3 months ( tourist visa) po. I filled out 48S form tama po ba?? and yung sa bf ko is 1149 tama din po ba?? ngayon hindi po kasi namin alam na pwede mag lodge ng application dito sa pinas kaya sa brisbane pa nya ni lodge yung aplication namin last feb 6.. at sabi it would take 6 week pa… Then while im browsing this blogs.. some of you were granted a visa in just two weeks dito sa pinas.. So pinatawag ko yung bf ko to check if it is really 6 weeks at yu po same din 6 weeks daw tlga.. tsaka sabi pa i fille out the wrong form dapat daw 676 eh 48S po ang nafill out ko.. Hi Elvie, tama si Emie eto yung form mo if TV at may sponsor ka http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/pdf/48r.pdf .. Mas madali kung dito ka nalang sa Pinas nag’logde mga few weeks lang makaka’receive kana ng result mo, yung iba wala man 1week may result na… So pano yun did kung mali yung form na na’fill up mo? Did they tell you na palitan yung form at magpasa ulit?. Ok lang yan, lahat naman halos kame dito nangangapa nun una..Pero glad ngayon kame naman nakaktulong sa iba kahit papano… Goodluck sana ma’grant at nakatulong kame:)
Hi Danica, from what I know ok lang na hindi citizen sa OZ yung sponsor mo, basta mag’show ka nalang ng proof na his working sa OZ…but to make sure better to call and ask them about it… then yung sa passport nung naglodged ako binigay ko din yung orig passport ko and a copy of it, ibabalik naman nila yung orig basta may copy..pero yung iba copy lang ata pinasa ok naman…ako din first time, dito lang sa site na ‘to ako nakakuha ng info..it helps alot..daming mabait na nakakasagot ng mga tanong ko dito dati…ngayon nakasagot na din ako sa question mo..hehe.

Regarding po sa employment ko.. Kasi im employed for a private company at nag paalam po ako na mag leave ng 3 mos para sa pag tour ko sa OZ unfortunately di po nila ako papayagan pag ganun daw katagal. So i need to file resignation once na grant na visa ko.. In this view anu po kya ang pwede ko gawin do i need to state na employd pa ako sa application or not??

and about dun sa 679 na application na nilodge namin ng bf ko sa brisbane. We retracted the application and as per immigration we can apply already for 676 TV here po sa pinas. For refund na lang yung visa charge po.. Hopefully matapos kko nadin po ang TV documents ko at ng makaalis nadin.. Please pray for me:))))

Hi Angie… yung intent letter kahit wag mona lagyan ng address… Hindi mo na rin kaylangan humanap ng courier para sa pagbalik ng mga docs. mo..kz sila na bahala dun, after mo i’lodge yung docs. mo sa Alegro may babayaran ka lang dun na 700, then nun maghintay ka nalang na i’deliver yung result ng visa application mo at yung mga docs. na maibabalik pa sayo…..

Hi Angie, dont forget the application form of course and the manager’s check. Baka meron ka rin lang money transfer receipts ipasa mo na rin. Kung mkakakuha ka rin lang ng NSO kuha ka na rin para makapasa ka niyan. Mas mabuti ng sobra ang ipapasang supporting documents kesa magkulang ganyang relationship ninyo ang nakasalalay sa magiging desisyon ng case officer. Sa sponsor mo naman, bank statement, copy ng driver’s license, certificate of employment, pay slips. goodluck..

Regarding sa NSO Birth Certificate requirement, kelangan ba ibigay muna other requirements sa VIA center bago ka tumawag sa NSO for birth certificate delivery to Australian Embassy? Or before ka pumunta sa VIA center, tumawag ka na sa NSO para sabay lann dating sa embassy?

Yung intent letter, gawa ka lang ng letter at lagay mo dun yung intensyon mo ng pagpunta sa OZ, if kung may bibisitahin ka dun, or kung ano pa man… Pde mo sya i’add as a requirments pero yung iba daw dito di naman nagbigay ng intent letter, granted naman… regarding naman sa NSO birth cert. mo, mas better pagsabayin mo nalang ipasa lahat ng docs. mo para di masyadong magastos sa pag’deliver…

Meron applicants na walang account pero na grant gaya ko. Pero suportado naman ako ng fiance ko kaya may mga naipasa akong money transfer receipts. Baka meron ka, ipasa mo na rin. Kung wala ok lang yan dahil strong incentive na uuwi ka lang naman ang kulang mo.

NOTE: the copies of passport and driver’s license should be notarized by the justice of peace in Aus of course and tell them to scan and send their docs thru email because if by mail even if it is express it will take 1-2 weeks before you receive it especially if you are in the province area.
You can add some supporting documents..it depends on you and your case. Just don’t bother to print proof of conversation and skype pictures like others do because it is not required on TV. on Fiancee Visa yes and some visas i think. You can lodge them either via center or via courier air21. If via courier, staple your docs and put them in a long brown envelope. the processing time is 15 working days to 1 month. Mine lodged in august last year was 9 working days. The fastest, based on what i read here in september, is 2 days only. It depends on the season i guess.

One more thing pa po sana. Anong documents po ba kailangan ko para ma-justify ko yung family ties ko. Nanay ko lang kasi and pwede kong tie kasi tapos nasa 62 palang sya. Hiwalay naman sila ng tatay ko at wala pa akong asawa at anak. Salamat po ulit.

Its a matter of death and life po kase in our 5yrs relationship with my boyfriend 4yrs don asa oz xa.. So 4yrs kme d ngkikita.. He broke up with me.. And told me na the only thing na makakapagbalik sa kanya sken is ung magkita kame, so with the help og a friend, ginawa namen lahat para makapagayos ng documents.. Its my first time to travel and salat ako sa lahat so its really hard on my part na magayos neto, lalo na at me ultimatum ung ex ko sken but i really love kaya kahit mahirap ginawa ko, and god is really good that i have found this site.. Its really help me a lot.. So thank you… And pls pray for me na ma grant.. Thank you po talaga sa lahat.. After this day, i’ll just be waiting for the result.. Whew!!! An hirap mag mahal!!! Hehe.. KUmusta napo ang mga apply natin. Ill just tell po what happened sa akin. Since from tarlac ako. I call the call center hotline last feb 21(thursday) and have my documents for scheduled pick-up. Accomodating namn ang nasa other line. English ang conversation “though u know na Filipino padin ang nasa other line because of the way she speak” So carry lang din po ang LOLA nyo sa pag sagot sa tanong nya First when do you plan to vicit OZ, then yung iba about your passport na. Just a normal QnA. End point is when ko papick up documents ko is it saturday or monday? sabi either of the two tuesday padin marereceive ng embassy documents. So i decided for monday since i need a sign in my certificate coming from my boss..So monday comes*feb 25) waiting in vain ako kasi 5pm na wala padin yung Air21, iniwan ko docu ko sa guard on post sa office, wala din ako natanggap n txt or call na my nag pick up. So tuesday na,, sbi ko pag wala pa nag pick up i will call na sa Center, then while im busy with my work, “Mam my nag hahanap sayo Air21 wide smile na kinausap ko si Mr A21, ask also bakit di napick up. Sorry namn po xa kasi hindi daw nailagay agad sa list nya kahapon ang papel ko.. No questions ask nadin kasi he troubled 45 mins just to get my document kasi wala po Air21 dito sa town namin:) sa city pa and i just pay 320 for pick up and delivery charge sobrang mura kesa mag agent ka they will charge you pa ng 700 sa courier at 2K+ sa agent fee. . So since na pick up na im expecting yesterday or today my sms nako mareceive. (waiting) Pero dami ata hindi nakakarecieve ng sms now. So thats it from now.. Hopefully yung iba po just continue to post the status,, kasi parang tagal din ng process nila ngayon.. Stay calm, positive lagi and Pray nalng po tayo. Goodluck to us Guy’s!!!

Aq kasi last thursday pa pinicked up ung documents ko then I received message from embassy monday pa lng but before that last Saturday I tracked my documents online it stated there na it was already received by the embassy Saturday in the morning. No CO assigned pa. Pero gusto namin mag apply ng Tourist visa, kasi alam namin that SV will take at least 6-9months. Minsan years.
My questions are:
1. Is there a conflict if I apply TV while SV ongoing?

hi greta, i think u can apply for tv while waiting for your sv, kasi may kasabay ako sa flight ko she’s from cebu and they are already married and while she is waiting for sv, she came to Au tv for 3 months..

Hi Angie, I just had my medical in St. Lukes Ext. Sa Manila. I paid around 4,500. Nakalimutan ko exact price 🙂 that’s the general fee. If your working in hospital, they will require more test.
