I am not a visa officer, nor am I migration agent. I am in no way affiliated with the Australian Embassy Manila nor with the Australian government. This post comes from my experience with preparing and submitting visa applications for family members and for myself. Also note that this entry pertains to my experience in applying for an Australian tourist visa in October 2006. The Australian immigration update their forms every 3 months. I will try to answer your questions the best way that I can, but bear in mind that a lot has changed since 2006. If you ask a question I’ve already answered in the post, I will ignore you.
One of the questions people ask me when I tell them I’ve been to Australia is if it’s easy to get a tourist visa. Almost everybody in Manila have heard of stories of how hard it is to obtain a US tourist visa: compiling documents like birth certificate, bank statements, even land titles O_O, paying a high application fee, waiting in line for hours for an interview. Is it as hard to get a tourist visa for Australia as it is for the US?
Actually, it’s not whether it’s harder on not, but it really boils down to how complete your documents are. I believe all embassies would be very meticulous about all the applications they receive, and it is really important to send them all the required documents.
Be it the Australian embassy, the US embassy or the Chinese embassy, they all want to know the same thing: that you are who you say you are, that you have the means to fund your trip in their country, and that you will be returning to your home country.
Proof of identity
This of course, is your passport and your birth certificate.
Proof of sufficient funds
Bank statements, credit card documents stating your credit limit, payslip
Proof that you’re not going to be an illegal immigrant
Certificate of employment if you’re already working or certificate of enrollment if you’re still studying

hello shyl, naglodge din ako ng pmv ko june 13, received by the embassy on 24th, and received an acknowledgement letter nung july 5th. antay antay ka lang. nakapagpa medical na rin ako sa may salcedo, makati. 4k plus ang cost ng medical. ang CFO kelangan yan kapag magta travel ka holding your partner’s visa.

Gusto ko lang sanang malaman kung before ka pumunta sa clinic eh may dala ka ng form(form 26 yata yun)? o dun na lang sasagutan sa clinic using pen? Sana may sumagot para makapag prepare ako. Yung passport biopage lang na isubmit ko kasi dapat yung original mismo sana ipapasa ko kaya lang biglang nagdesisyon si f na mag apply ulit ako ng tourist kya yung available copy na wala pang sign ng attorney ang nailagay ko sa envelope dahil pipick up-in na. It should be the biopage and other pages na may tatak na ang ipa photocopy mo then pa sign mo sa attorney. Since original documents naman ipapasa mo so yung passport copy lang ipa sign mo. Yung handling fee sa VIA center ang dko alam kasi nag lodge ako via phone kya 320 lang binayaran ko sa courier. Nagpa medical na rin ako sa nationwide health system sa may makati. Hindi sila nagpapa appointment so maaga ako pumunta kasi first come first serve basis. Dun ka magfi-fill-up ng forms kaya wag ka mag fill up online. Yung requirements kung alam mo lang naman ang contact number ng clinic na balak mong puntahan ring them so you would know the requirements. Madali lang naman pagpa medical: magbabasa ka ng letters, kukunan ka ng picture, weight and height, urine and blood, chest x-ray, and then check ka ng doctor…as simple as that. Its my pleasure to answer your queries rose, gusto ko din makatulong kasi dumaan din ako sa ganyan na patanong tanong. Tanong ka lang kung meron ka pang nais malinawan at sasagutin ko kung alam ko din lang. :-))

thankyou so much for ur help..:)…about for physical examination sis janice. i check2x din va sa doctor, yung breast natin.. kasi.. nextweek by wensday i wil had my operation for my breast i have my cyst, left and right, kaya, i wil had my operation before i wil had my medical for my pmv..i wil lodge my pmv nwtweek by friday … di ba masyadong higpit at di vah ito makakaeffect for my pmv application?… janice.baka nexthmonth pa ako makapagmeidcal ms janice kasi.. pagagalingin ko muna yung sugat sa breast ko after my operation before i wil had my medical for pmv….. after for ur medical janice malalaman mo vah agad yung result o send it to embassy directly? di vah ito makaka effect for my pmv application ms janice na i do my operatioon for my breast..? thankyou so much again janice for ur help. i really need ur advice.. ingat lagi god bless…..

As far as I know yung mga nakahahawang sakit lang ang makakaapekto sa application like HIV, tuberculosis, hepatitis and etc. Yang sayo ay cyst(hindi nakakahawa) and as what you have said you’re going to undergo an operation before you lodge your application so i think hindi yan makakaapekto. Ang result ay di nila sinasabi sa applicant, diretso nila yan isina submit sa embassy. Sana maging successful ang operation. I’ll pray for you sis.

hello annamarie pepito, g’day.. daku kaau ang HK airport ann, sana taas taas na oras imong gipili na lay over para naa ka time maghanap ng gate mo papuntang Adelaide. Last year Sydney akong stop over, nipili jud ko og taas na oras para dili ko ma stress og pinangita sa gate kay pirti pod kadaku ang Sydney airport.. Sa Aug 25 ako flight to Adelaide ann, Singapore akong stop over tapos akong gipili ang 5 hours na lay over para dili ko ma stress og pinangita sa gate..
Ganito na lang gawin mo, pagbaba o pagdating mo sa HK airport magtanong ka sa taga airport saan ang customer serivce assistance ng Cathay Pacific or magtanong ka o ipakita mo sa kanila boarding pass mo para ma guide ka kung saan ka pupunta kasi ang laki talaga ng HK airport. Always remember your flight number kay mao nay mo guide nimu.. Mahirap kasi sa HK kasi di nakakaindinti ng English karamihan sa mga tao doon kaya sa mga employee ka ng airport magtanong.. Tip: don’t drink softdrinks,coffee,tea,chocolate & juice 1 night & in the morning bgo k mg p medical pra mging ok ang result ng urine test mo & no need for u to comeback & repeat the test. kse that kind of drinks can affect the color of ur urine so better u must do the water therapy pra mging clear urine mo.

hi! mae.. musta ka?.. ang sinubmit ko pala mae.. is.. form 1419, 2 pasport size, nbi, nso, police clearance, barangay clearance certificate residency, all purpose travel abroad, pasport biopage, pinacertified ko din sa cityhall, reciept for my tv fee.. si fiance ang nagbayad sa oz, bali he just send me the receipt.., voters id, picstogether with I my fiancee na super dami..hehehe.. my family picture, pics ko at syaka my fiancee family, my itinary ticket lat year na visit sa ako fiancee lastyear , my travel insurance nako before, .. i submit too many para nman sure na granted ulit.. and gumawa din ako intent letter… i state sa letter na babalik ako dito sa pinas before of my visa expire and wait the decision of my pmv, and to be with my family…. sinabi ko din sa ;letter na maglodge ako nang pmv ko after i lodge tourist visa.. wla din ako work, mae.. at wla din anak… bsta isulat mo sa intent na very convincing, just say promise na uuwi ka before of ur visa expire.. may girl din na nag ask nang help sa akin when she keep comment a slideshow pics of i and my fi ancee at youtube then she got granted 1st time din ya… kaya mo kayan..

si F din ayaw niya mag violate ng OZ rules and regulations, if tourist, tourist lang talaga.. gusto niya dito kami ikasal para daw maka witness family ko, friends and office mates.. tsaka gusto niya dito kami ikasal kasi wala daw divorce sa Pinas, di kasi siya in favor sa divorce. Sabi niya umabot daw siya ng 40 bago mag asawa and he wants it for life. I am so happy with that kasi gusto ko rin dito ikasal…

hello roseeee… uu, sa celebrant letter, nakastate ngadto ang place, date of kasal ug statement niya nga kami nakapass na ug NOIM niya(celebrant). bale kaning three things ako gimention, mao ni cia ang essential things nga dapat nakastate sa celebrant letter… wala pami nagbayad rose sa visa fee kay nig human na namo gather sa among paperworks… ang form 888 which is the stat. dec from two friends in australia…wala ko nisunod… ang among plano is in a plain bondpaper, himo lang ug statement ang among mga friends tagsa tagsa like a letter addressed to embassy. signed by them and dated…. dayun the next page sa ilang letter is their identification like IDs or passport.. kay base lang jud sa akong pag-understand sa booklet 1, wla man jud giingon nga dapat form 888 but gistate lang ngadto nga statement from friends, den ang kana ilang photocopy identification which is their support documents sa ilang letter, it must be signed by jp and then signed pud sa among friend… hehe

hahaha ur so smart sis.. akalain mo they give u multiple entry visa.. wow nman sis sana ganun din sa akin pero ok na rin atleast di ba granted.. sis mojs y dnt u try to email the embassy sis… kasi ako yung tv ko ittook 1 month process so ang ginawa ko i emailed the embassy july 26 then nag reply sa akin ang embassy july 27 saturday they in form me.. na mali yung email cz i send my enquiry at consular.. so wht the consular did.. she forward my message to the autsrlian embassy.. immigration so july 28 i emailed the email consular give2 me.. so july 29 i recive and email they in form me na my application was finalized today july 29.. then july 30 i got my tourist visa approved… mas maganda mag email ka sakanila sis.. kasi mag rereply cila agad2x.. buti nlang i email them.. kung hindi siguro now wla pa din yungtv reuslt ko.. puede rin naman na s aoz ka mag papa medical ms mojs.. pero mas mahal ngah kesa dito sa atin…

i have come across this org from my search on how to apply for australian tourist visa. i got invited by my cousin living there 9Victoria) so i thought to grab the opportunity. to make the story short…i was able to lodge my application, it was picked up by Air21 last July 11 but received by embassy July 13 and i received a txt from them on July 15. kaya lng..nakakainip pala at sobra ang kaba lalo na magwa 1month na at wala pa rin ako text man. i hope id be granted visa. im a widow and have 3 children, i have property here (house and lot), i have a stable job and granted leave and report back to work certification from my employer which i all supplied (documents) and attached in my application

i lodge my tv.. last june 25, and recive a txt from embassy july 27 my tv process was took 1 month.. before wen i lodge my 1st tv.. it only 3 days.. so ds time was s long.. pero.. sabi nman ng via cetner sa akin, it took 1 month.. case to case basis daw depende.. july 25, one month na yung application ko so ang ginawa ko emailed the embassy july 26 , i recive andreply july 27… they inform me na mali yung email na isend.. so kasi isend email consular oz embassy at a good thing is mag rereply cila agad sis.. may..consular forward my message at immigration, july 28.. i emailed again.. sunday.. so july 29 i recieve and email from embassy and says.. dear ms.. thankyou for ur enquiry.. july 29 my application was finalzed today.. so july 30 i recive my tourist visa granted….i nver receive a text from embassy or air 21.. bali 2go yung nag deilver nang documents ko… and i got granted tv twice… email ka sa kanila ms may… magrereply cla agad2x… kasi one month na yung application moo.. ito pala yung email..

Nurse imu sistah didto ann?? bongga naman… Taga Christies Beach si F ann, mga 45 minutes drive from the city.. Malapit lang din sa hospital kung saan nag work ang ate mo ang South Australian Museum, Art Gallery of So. Australia, University of Adelaide etc. .. Bale nag linya lang na diha ann..

Miss Nina just wanna post this po nabasa ko din prang nag iba tong forum mo not like before na dito rin kami natuto sa pag apply ng visa sa pagbabasa ng mga experiences nila and ngaun lng yata ako nakabasa ng dailect tuloy dko magets kawawa din ung new comer sa site na to pra matulungan..dko maintindihan ung iba dito kasi gamit nila dialect nila e eto hindi pang chikahan personalan etong forum e pra sa lahat so be fair enough sana na tagalog or english gamiting kasi nung una puro tagalog gamit namin now biglang own dialect na gmit which is not fair tlaga..kaya nga ginawa ni miss nina etong forum not only to a certain group pro para sa lahat. prang hindi na eto forum sa kinalabasan ng may halo ng dialect..paano pa makakatulong sa iba namag aapply ng visa nila e d nila maintindihan ano binabasa nila sa mga experiences natin.ang aim ng forum na to is to help everyone base from our experienced in applying visa.ang tamaan wag magagalit… just an opening to everyone..this is a forum not a personal blog.if you want to help use everybodies language to be fair enough.thank you

With regards to that dialect issue. Actually nakapag ask na ako ng favor regarding dun na kung sana tagalog or english nalang but some of them hindi tinanggap at me issue pa. I ask them nicely with concern of others. Kasi kung pagiging fair lang sana pwede nman eh tyaka kung gusto talagang makatulong sa iba na nag aaply. Galing ako sa site na ito and all my visa was granted and besides me mga kaibigan na ako sa australia ng dahil dto constant seeing and sms na kme. Napag usapan namin one of our meetings eh itong batch na ito who is using ung sakanilng dialect. Bakit kailangan ganun kung kaya naman mag tagalog. Since ikaw din naman na me ari ng blog na ito is favor na ganun wala kme magagawa. Me nag sabi pa nga dto na pwede daw nman kasi sabi mo. Ang amin lang naman KUNG GUSTO NIYO MAKATULONG AND TULUNGAN BE FAIR sa iba.

Why would you demand a change in language? IMO if the reader can’t understand basic English, then what chance do they have of going to a foreign, English-speaking country?

Hi gosev, 10days to 1month ung processing period. Me too is planning to leave for australia 1st week of sept. I lodge my application last july 23 and since then never heard any feedback from the embassy.. sabi ng iba meron ang iba naman walang interview… cguro it will all depend in the CO that will handle your case.

hello gosev…depende kasi case to case , ako 1 month in 5 days bago dumating ang grant notice ko… i was lodged my application last may 31 then the result was came out july 5….base on my experienced wala akong interview… pero sabi ng mga na friend ko dito may interview na raw sa ngayon…dont worry kaya mo ang mga question nila ….be positive! im sure granted ka rin….

yes rose, may one week ako to experience the freezing cold of OZ hehehe pero nag buy si hubby ng additional heater rose para daw di masyadong malamig sa loob ng house nya kasi malapit lang xa sa beach (3-5 minutes walk lang beach na kaya super lamig talaga)… If ever ma approve PMV mo, when nyo plan pakasal rose? reason kung bakit ka niya ininvite, din dapat naka state din na ciya bahala all ur expenses like ur airfair, trvale insurance..etc, dapat isulat din niya na uwuwi ka sa atin before of ur visa expire at dahil maglolodge kadin nang pmv mo pag-uwi mo… di masyadong mahaba ang invitation letter nang bf.. mo sis mae, ha! .. gdluck mae
ooooohhhh just came here now…ilang days din ako di nakadalaw to read the blogs..im pretty sad coz i got refused sa tourist visa application ko..i felt my CO has used one argument against me na walang basehan..and that i need to be clarified about it so im sending a letter to the embassy to clarify that since it became a basis for my refusal.
i come here often..i read every comments kahit sa anong lenggwahe pa sya..and i commented na even if i dont understand all of it im happy that others made it…so lets be friends ok? we need each other..just asked nicely and be polite kung merong hindi maliwanag..lets be patient with one another..

ang totoo…malabo nga e kung bakit hehehe. i have a sponsor ung cousin ko, she has a statutory declaration..wala problema sa sponsor..marami lng inassume ung CO ko..di ko pa nga alam kung bakit me sinabi sya na walang basis..binanggit nya about frenquent travel to extended period..na un ang malabong malabo at malayong malayo sa katotohanan dahil di pa nga ako nakakalabas ng Philipines..so san kaya galing un? db me mga passport naman tau inaattached. pati sa application mentioned un.so dahil dun kabit kabit ang effect..baka daw di na ako babalik kc nandun mga kapatid ko at pinsan ko. akala ko kc mas maganda ilagay sila dahil me sasagot sa accommodation ko and other things…
i have a very very stable job…i even showed proof of my property here..i have to know kung bakit sinabi nya un..ang masakit…wala appeal sa decision made..kung me tanong ako..i can email them daw..

hello may na refused ka huwag kang mawalan ng pag asa, GOD has another plan for you, everything has a purpose bat nangyari yun….case to case siguro no kung bakit ma refused tayo ,sa akin hindi ko sinulat na may kaibigan ako na andoon din oz kasi sabi ng sister ko iisipan kasi ng australian embassy hindi kana babalik dito sa pinas kasi may kakilala ka nakatira na doon….pero depende cguro

oo kasi akin na refuse din last time using my bf mother sponsor sna grnat na ngayun kasi nagkita na kami anu ung pagpasa mo na pictures sa album ba or sa envelope mo nalng nilagay and then ung iba mong papers is naka stypler then ung pag print mo ng tourist visa lahat ba yun iprint 1 to page 17 san ka ba nag lodge sa manila ba pumunta ka ng makati embassy then pinasa mo ung all documents mo give some idea naman ayaw ko na kasi pumunta ng agent salamt may 🙂
mae..wala ako pictures na sinama kc sponsored ako cousin ko pero inattach ko passport, bank statement, statutory declaration, drivers license nya sa application ko. maliban pa ung sakin na payslip for the last 3 mos., bank statement ko, copy of my lot title, birth cert., passport biography page, Certificate of compensation Payment/tax withhled (form 2316), certification from my employer stating my status as regular employee, my position, granting my leave and my report back to work.
hindi na kelangang iprint mo lahat, from page 7 to last page lng..ung first 6 pages information lng kc un. tas i paper clip mo lng minsanan..although sympre kung halimbawa ung birth cert mo e 2 pages..stapler mo un..
siguro baka pwede mo ipaste nlng mga pictures sa coupon bond tas ipunin mo at stapler mo.(.not sure how others did re sa mga pictures nila) pero ung buong document paper clip mo tas i seal mo sa isang long brown envelope (but before u do that call ka muna at sasabihin dun kung ano-ano ang isasama at gagawin mo sa envelope). No need to go there sa Makati mae..you can call their SDP nos. 19093622779(PLT/Smart), 19003622779 (Globe) at 19033622779 (Bayan Tel) tas iinform ka ng ng kausap mo kung ano gagawin mo..bibigyan ka nya ng Reference no. Me mga itatanong syang mga informations sau like your name, birthday, your passport no. at kung san ito naissue, intended date of travel, iready mo na rin ung 320 na separate mong ibabayad sa courier..pick up na un at delivery of result uli sau. Hassle kung punta ka pa Manila kung dika nman taga don o karatig bayan..ako im from Baguio kc.
